Toyland Reboot TORG cosm This cosm landed on Reboot Earth with the rest of the invasion on January 19, 1997. It occupied the Pacific Northwest. It used stelae and grew in a triangle-wise fashion, with stelae in Vancouver B.C., Kennewick, Burns, Newport, and one more to the south. It was forced away on January 22, 1997. The High Lord of Toyland was Sinder Klaus. The darkness device is a black alphabet block , called The Big Black Block. This cosm is populated by animated toys, including windups, stuffed, and battery powered. The windups and Battery powered need to get energy from time to time, but the stuffed never even need to sleep ( ala Oz). Characters managed to inflict enough damage on Sinder Klaus that The Big Black Block abandoned him. Greatly drained of possibility by the invasion of Reboot Earth, a failed invasion just previously (similar to the problem Tharkhold had by invading Kadandra before invading Core Earth), and the Law of Frivolity made this barely possible. A reality storm created by a just transcended character nearly destroyed the Big Black Block so it escaped through to another dimension. World Laws The Law of Frivolity - Toys are very fickle and will change sides and allegiances with little or no reason, though "for the fun of it" is common. Toys are highly gullible and will go along with the most outrageous plans. They break this law just often enough to make them very unpredictable. (A spirit roll of 14 perhaps?) The Law of Durability - Wounds do not kill, they just render you in too many pieces to be able to do anything. Each piece is still alive, and eyes can see, mouths can speak, etc. Reassembly is easy for natives, but natives of other cosms may need special techniques. There are no nerves to reattach in a teddy bear, just restuff them and sew them up. Major Influences - Oz, Babes in Toyland. TORG list members - I did not expect this cosm to last, but two characters transformed, so I am stuck with it. I would like another world law, just to make it stranger, and a good mechanic for The Law of Frivolity. Also, where did the Big Black Block go? Do you think that Toyland will re invade? Klaus was pretty shot up, but so what. Are there any big balance problems? When the initial axiom wash happened, many buildings, bridges, dams, etc turned into legos, tinker toys, erector sets, and so on. When the Reboot Earth axioms flood back many of these structures collapsed. There is no power in most of the Pacific NW, the loss to the national power grid of the hydroelectric dams is causing brownouts in the rest of the country (a single dam lost will destroy all dams below it). There was natural flooding in January, so the loss of the dams will exacerbate this. The rest of the U.S. is not obviously affected by an invasion. What do you think the national response is?
